New 2 smoking need some help

I have a masterbuilt electric smoker and no where in the instructions does it say what I do with the water holder, ie how much and so on.. I get the instructions about soaking the wood chips but what if anything do I do with the water holder? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

First of all welcome to SMF. You should go over to the roll call section & introduce yourself so we all can give you a proper SMF welcome. You can put water in the water pan or you can run the smoker with it dry. Just don't run the smoker without the pan being in there. A lot of MES owners run the smoker with it dry, because the smoker is so well insulated & leak proof that the water makes for too moist an environment.
