Please give me some practicle advice and suggestions on reworking this very neglected critter.I am searching for a trailered smoker and ran across this ad. I do not own any welding equipment so any mods would have to be done elsewhere. In your opinion, would the rebuild be worth it or not? Should I keep looking or do you think this has possibilities. I like the grill but would use it primarily as a large smoker. Your thoughts please.

I live in the middle of North Carolina or I would try for it myself.. It appears to be a good start on what U are wanting to do. I know that getting a propane tank and getting it to the point that the doors are on and working is a large part of the build wheather it be a grill or a smoker.
It would be a heap better if you had access ti a torch and welder.
Those wheels and tires are not the thing to be depending on to haul it down the road at highway speeds. The construction of a firebox isn't that big of a deal but if you had a smaller tank or heavy metal box to start with would be a big help. plate steel is pretty expensive nowadays. all in all
if you can get it for a hundred bucks or so I believe you could revamp it pretty reasonable. BUTT! if you go from tennessee to Ky to get it, take
a trailer... Hemi..

It looks like quite a bit of work. The tank is worth something but other than that I think it would be a total rebuild. If you could get it cheap enough it may be worth it but without the tools to rebuild it I think I might would keep looking but thats me. Good luck with whatever you decide

Depending on how far you would have to drive to get it, I think it is a good deal considering the tank alone is worth what the bid is now.

If you did get it I would start by replacing the Trailer and add a Firebox & Stack to it and get rid of the propane.

It also looks like the doors need a little attention and you could have a nice smoker...

I would definately trailer it home...

Hey TnTxajon,

The old bartoring system is really making a comeback. You could look on backpage.com or craigslist.com and find a welder looking for work and do some sort of bartering. Just an idea, but my neighbor got his car worked on for doing some electrical work and both where happy since the economy is not back just yet. Good luck and happy ebaying
