we are having fam in next weekend and i am going to smoke a turkey with sides. i want to make the dressing now and freeze it. should i go ahead and cook it now or can i freeze the ingreadiants and cook next saturday morning..

I see people put it together and freeze it. They take it out of the freezer and bake it right away . If you try and thaw it first, it could get soggy.

If it's soggy don't stir it.... you can dump it on a cookie sheet and spread it out, put it back in oven to dry.

I haven't made the all cornbread kind. Only mixed with bread cubes . I don't like that solid stuff.

This kind I don't like and don't know how to make or freeze.

What herbs are you using? My experience shows some herbs, like cloves and sage, can get REAL strong when frozen in the final product. If using cloves or sage, just cut the amount in half that you use.
yes, here in the south we use a lots of sage. after thinking it over i may just wait and mix the ingrediants friday night just before bed time and bake sat morning. thanks for your inputs.
