I have family that just flew in from Hawaii for a few weeks and am smoking a couple butts right now for pulled pork tonight. And Thursday I want to bbq a tri-tip which I use a teriyaki and ginger marinade. So I would like to make some Asian cole slaw to go with it. I'm sure with all the experts out there somebody has a killer recipe.

Thanks!

John

Here is a recipe that is fairly close to what I use (I use the regular cabbage instead of the Napa cabbage) and subsitute the white wine vinegar with apple cider vinegar)

Asian Cole Slaw
 • 5 cups Chinese or napa cabbage (1-1/4 pounds), thinly sliced and ribs removed
 • 3 medium carrots, shredded
 • 2 green onions, thinly sliced
 • 1/4 cup minced fresh cilantro
 • 1/3 cup white wine vinegar
 • 1 tablespoon canola oil
 • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
 • 1 teaspoon sugar
 • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Directions
•  In a large bowl, combine the cabbage, carrots, green onions and cilantro. In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining ingredients. Pour over cabbage mixture and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour or until chilled.  Yield: 6 servings.

Oriental Slaw
My lovely wife makes this, and is it ever good!!! I would rather have it then Cole Slaw

1 bag of Cole slaw mix
2 packs of Ramen Noodles
1/2 cup of canola oil
1 cup of water
1/2 cup of sugar
1/3 cup of soy sauce
½ cup of dried cranberries
½ cup of pecans coarsely diced

Mix together  oil, water, sugar, soy sauce and 1 pack of chicken seasoning from noodles, (disgard other pack of chicken seasoning) add to slaw mix and Refrigerate for 1/2 hour

Smash both packs of noodles and add to slaw mix and stir and put back in the fridge for another 1/2 hour, then right before serving add cranberries and nuts. Enjoy
