    I have a pork shoulder that has been marinating for 24 hours for an event today. I went out to start my MES 40 and it will not heat up.

    I suppose I need to put it in the oven but have never cooked one in the oven. I'm assuming I just use the same direction as I would with the smoker but I'm not sure. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  2. Heat is heat. Your oven thermostat may not be totally accurate so make sure you probe the meat.

    By the way, I once ran into a similar situation that turned out to be the outlet/circuit rather than the smoker. Worth a check if you haven't.
