Newbie here and I have a Brinkmann Smoke N Pit that I would like to add dial thermometers to so I can monitor grill temp. I was thinking of adding a couple of these Taylor thermometers, but I am not sure if I am on the right track.

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated as I try to modify my SnP.

Also, are there any brick and mortar stores that carry these types of thermometers? Home Depot was a bust today. Thanks.

Forget the idea of using a thermo in your lid. Plug the hole and use a digital thermo with a probe. Take a small hunk of cookin wood and drill a 3/32 or 1/8 hole in it and use it to hold your probe wherever you want it...
If you look around at some posts you will see what I mean..

Thanks for the suggestions. I will probably look at Lowe's and then look for a deal on a dual probe wireless digital.

I was going to get a wireless probe one, but cheaped out and just grabbed a wired probe one at K-mart for $13. Works good and since I have a feel for how long stuff takes I don't really worry about checking it till it gets down to the last hour or so.
