So, i've had my amznps for a couple months now and saw that Myron Mixon sells his own pellets for his "new smoking system."

I decided to try the peach pellets in my smoker this weekend since they were only 16.99 for 20 lbs.

Anyone have any experience/tips for these pellets?  I've only tried BBQ's delight pellets before this so i'm open to trying different brands until i find the best one.  Thanks for any help, guys & girls.

Well, I woke up at 4am this morning to start on my pork butt.

The pellets got started like the others I've tried so after about 10 mins of flame on the pellets I blew the fire out and let the smoke roll before I put the amnps in the smoker along with the pork butt.

I set my maverick thermometer and let the magic begin. About 20 mins later after the temp was settled at 220 it started to rise quickly. It got up to 270 within another 15 mins so I went out to check. The pellets were already about 40% spent. They were on fire more than what they were with the torch.

I had to go back to wood chips so far in fear I would have to pull another blazing fire out.

Did I do something wrong or are these pellets just not good for the amnps?
