Someone will click on this thread thinking it's the greatest build of all time!
It is the greatest build of all time. Ask farmer
Are you going to brine the bird?
Fwiw.. I find younger all natural birds are juicier and tastier, I'd rather do two 6 lb then one 12lb.Tyson all natural in my area has been my go 2. Say NO to brine... Jmo
I like to brine........fresh herbs from the garden......I prefer the smaller birds..........I do a lot of Cornish hens.
No I'm not talking young like cgh even though I love them but smaller yard birds in 6 lbs or less.
rub or inject?
Oh one last thing I forgot... This ain't no MES, put that bird right on the rack with nothing underneath.. Drippings straight down to the fire. NO peaking at it either, each time you open that lid it messes with the temps for about 10 minutes
But that will put the fire out!! !!! He'll never be able to control the heat!
If you look just once
Lol . I've been cooking with no fire or heat then!
I have to look once in awhile.
NO peaking!! Lol only peak @ the Maverick!
I shook my basket down to get the ash out, I am going to use the half burnt and unburnt charcoal in there for the next smoke.
Why do you have to look?
that's what I do. Burn the leftover in the next smoke.
