I just got a BPS drum smoker kit and I love it! I had a little trouble with the vents being a different than the paper templates they provide, but I made it work. I also sealed the bottom vent seams with high temp RTV sealant. It helped make it truly air tight. Other than that, the rack is quality as well as the charcoal basket and other hardware. I cooked a brisket and 3 racks of baby back ribs this past Saturday. Then on Sunday, I grilled some burgers and hot dogs with the coal basket up on the higher position to grill higher temp. That also worked very well. I am very happy with the way it cooks and I would recommend the BPS drum smoker kit to anyone looking to get the most bang for their buck!

Awesome  Scottie!    I also had a slight problem with the vent templates but made it work... i had to drill out a couple of holes wider so the bolt would go through and took high heat silicone to seal the perimeter.   All said and done it's AWESOME but i wish i would have used the vents themselves as a template vs the paper.

I've done a tone of reverse sears with steaks and love it.   I also a added a couple of mods i'll share with you, one is for the temp probes and another is for a pitmaster iq.

The Pitmaster IQ is a great addition and i put it in a weather box...which has saved it twice already with rain storms.

Thanks for the post I have been contemplating getting one of these to compliment the smoker arsenal.  I'm not always the "handiest" guy so I was intrigued with ease of assembly.  I appreciate your tips and comments......I'm buying.

Thanks, Steve
