My two food entries that didn't make it to the "October Thrown Down"

  1. Here's the first entry I was thinking about using in the "Leftover" Throw Down - Pulled Pork Cuban Wraps served with Mojo Dipping Sauce, Zucchini Fries and Savory Ranch Dip. There's a story behind my contest madness LOL.  Go to this link for the story and step-by-step info http://theroedtogoodcooking.wordpress.com/2014/11/17/my-first-food-contest/

My partners in crime - my awesome neighbors aka "the sisters."  We hung out three different nights sampling all three of my contest entries. "The sisters" always bring over the libations!!!

Here's the link for the second entry I was thinking about using - Pulled Pork Po-Boys topped with Awesome Onions Rings and Baked Crispy Kale Chips.  Here's the link to my step-by-step http://theroedtogoodcooking.wordpress.com/2014/11/17/my-2nd-food-en…me-onion-rings/

Here's my "winning" entry Pulled Pork Two Cheeses Spinach Pizza, Pulled Pork Cigars and Baked Crispy Kale Chips.  Here's the link http://theroedtogoodcooking.wordpress.com/2014/11/17/my-winning-entry/

My Pulled Pork Cigar topped with homemade salsa and a big dollop of homemade Crème Fraiche

Three ideas, one throwdown. I bow to the Vegas Queen.

I realize I can never be a sister but if I brought a libation and sat in the corner quietly, could I just come and eat?

  3. ha-ha Disco - you are too dang funny!  You and "She who must be obeyed" are welcome to "The Roed's Villa" anytime......................AND you don't have to sit in the corner!  All libations are welcomed[IMG]

I was guessing your entree was by one of our resident chefs! I was thinking homemade creme fraiche wasn't something that most people knew how to make...

  5. Dang it Josie, you are making me drool at 7 am. :drool All those pics look so good. I think you had that win locked with any of those dishes. They all look so good. If you send me one of each, I can tell you which one is best.

  6. I will say it sure does look tasty!

    Happy smoken.

Incredible, Josie!! Any of those three look like winners to me! You're not making it easy for the other throwdown competitors with dishes like those!

Very nice SJ, that all looks so dang tasty ! Thumbs Up. Wish I at least had smell-o-vision, but then again that might be just torture !

So in your Qview, I knew you were a vino girl so the wine was no surprise...But did I see a Bud Light in there as well, you a brew girl also?? LOL.

  9.  I love making homemade Crème Fraiche. You can make homemade Crème Fraiche at a fraction of the cost of buying it in those overpriced specialty stores.  Thanks for the nice compliment.

Be Blessed and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

  13. lol............I am sorry you are drooling at 7am!  I would be happy to send you one of each but I'm afraid the food would not travel well.  So, you and "Mrs. 5oclocksowher" will just have to come to Vegas.  The grub is ALWAYS great and the libations are always ice cold at "the Roed's Villa".  I'm sure I can get "the sisters" to join us.  They love happy hour on my patio!!!!
