I've seen a few grilled cabbages around, but this is the way I do it. Enjoy!

1. Core the cabbage, reserve the core because you'll need to reseal the core.
2. 2 cubes of beef bullion, in the hole.
3. Fill remainder of the hole with butter that has been creamed with salt and pepper.
4. Cut the core top off and reseal.
5. Wrap generously with foil and grill over indirect heat for approximately 1-1.5 hour. for slightly underdone cabbage, 1.5-2 hours for done.
6. When done, eat...

I grill a lot of cabbage, but usually cut it into slices and salt/pepper/olive oil them. I would have hated it as a kid, but I love it now. I've grown to love cabbage, though being irish and polish I doubt I really ever had a choice.

I've seen the cabbage steak idea.  Never tried it.  Worried it would just fall apart on me.  Sounds great though with the pepper flakes...

I'm not a cabbage fan in the least but my wife is, and believe me, I pay for it anytime she eats it!

She has grilled cabbage over the years in a very particular way and she loves it, as do others, but I can't say if it's good or bad.  Well, at least for cabbage lovers, that is.  I know I don't like it.

She takes a head of cabbage and quarters it, though not all the way through the bottom, just enough to open it up.  Then she dumps a pint of sour cream into the center and covers the sour cream with sesame seeds.  Wraps the whole thing up in heavy duty aluminum foil and throws it on the grill taking up valuable real estate as I grill whatever I happen to be grilling.

She's leaves it on there until she figures it's done and then opens it and serves it.  I've never heard anyone say anything bad about, other than me.
