    Hey guys...

I have had an Akorn for 3 years now, and an electric for a year. I'm looking at replacing the Akorn with either with a Weber grill, or a Kamado style cooker. With having (and keeping) the electric smoker, is there really a reason to spend the $$$$ for a kamado when it will be used basically as a standard grill  (burgers, dogs, steak, brats...etc) ? I plan to do 99% of my smoking on the electric and would only change that for fun once in a while.

The electric will eventually be replaced with a stick burner (my last one got smashed by a fallen tree and just havent gotten to replace it yet... kids are expensive!)

I like the Weber grills, all of them. They perform great. They are also easier to move around. I'd vote for the Weber myself. How many do you cook for? I can cook for my wife and I on just the Smokey Joe. For the family 4-6 The Jumbo Joe works just fine.

Webber kettle all the way for a charcoal / stick burner..When I say stick burner, I mean I have used mine plenty of times with rendered down mesquite wood..

I use mine more than I use my Weber Genesis Silver Gasser to be honest..

The Weber kettle can be used to smoke and grill anything you want once you get some experience with it. I'd recommend the charcoal trays for indirect cooking as they can be placed side-by-side on one side of the grill for some intense grilling while proving a cooler area for idling.
