My next shop project, aint gonna be a smoker!

    Wife acquired this from one of her clients. Going to turn it into a bar Table. The top will be about 4'-4'-6" dia. and be made from concrete Need to clean up the garage a bit so we can build the form for the top.

    I reached out the Demtos rep to see if I could get any information on the markings, but never got a reply.

    Great barrel . Check out the link I put in for wood fired ovens ,you can trace out a form in those dimensions for your oven.

    Such a great old world skill making oak barrels . Long may it continue, no modern substitute.

    While out in Napa last year we did take several winery tours. The DelDotto winery had the most informative section on oak barrels and apparently the French oak barrels are prized for their impressive affect on the wines stored in them .     Being long time basement wine makers I took one of my rotting barrels and restored it to good use. It's my cold cheese smoker

    Thats just brilliant.

    Here its always a mix of American & French oak in out red wines.I don't know how they work out how long in which depends on whose in charge I suppose.
