My new-to-me smoker.

  1. This rig is from my favorite BBQ joint, Porky's Blazin BBQ. It was the smoker they started their restaurant with.

    Can't wait to test it out. If all goes well I'll use it in a contest in May.

  5. Whiteman has a small contest in conjunction with a car show in May. The contest is more or less an excuse for a fund raiser. They sell all the BBQ after judging is complete. Decent prizes though... Last year I won a large big green egg and 10 bags of lump charcoal.
  6. Contest was rescheduled and smoker worked like a champ. Tied for third. I was very happy with my turn in. Flavor, tenderness, brisket tug were all perfect.

    I had five packer briskets and eight pork butts going and only needed half of the smoker.

  7. I made a few cosmetic changes. I added a banner for when I go to competitions and I added a large bell (just because its cool). I ring the bell when its time to eat or when I am tasting my turn ins and they make me happy.
