After calling about a dozen places, I finally found a place that had one without having to order one for me. Picked it up today and waiting for Big Booger to get home so we can assemble this bad boy! Got the tools ready to go, as you can see. :)

Oddly enough, we're having ribs for dinner, but not smoked. Slow cooker this time. LOL

Grats! You will love the WSM - I have had mine for over 4 years now and never once regretted it. Remember to catch your temps on the way up, especially since yours is new it is going to want to run a little hot until you get 8-12 smokes done in it.
  3. Congrats. I love mine! Last week I did an overnight pork butt and made three adjustments the entire cook. It shouldn't be this easy but it is!

Thanks for the tips! I appreciate it. Any more, just let me know. Just curious, what do you use to scoop out the ashes? I'm thinking about buying the Weber ash scoop. Also, what do you use to tap the ash off the coals, or do you never do that?

I was also thinking about getting the IQ110 for it. Is it really needed? I love the idea of 'set it and forget it.'
Thanks! What adjustments do you usually make? How far open do you keep each vent on the 3 bottom vents and top vent? That's what I like about the IQ110. Close all bottom vents the fan isn't attached to, open the top vent full open, and dial in the temperature on the IQ110 you want. 225° is the norm, I read.

Any tips you guys have for me, I'd greatly appreciate it. :)
