Im so bummed out. I got up at 5:30 this morning to start smoking  2 nice pieces of pork for dinner tonight. Everything was working great when we left for church and running our errands for today. I just got home and the heating light was on, and the inside temp was 73 deg. with a cold element inside. Not sure when it stopped working but I now have to throw away almost 40$ worth of pork and try to find out what happened to my smoker. i feel like crying.

Sorry to hear that, how old was your smoker? Have you experienced any problems in previous smokes prior to its failure?

I'm not sure. I'll need to check it out thoroughly but I didn't feel like it after all that happened. I hope it's fixable though.

What you experienced is the primary reason I stay home and monitor every smoke. You never know what will happen. Mechanical, electrical, and electronic components have a way of breaking down without prior notice at any time.

It might or might not be repairable but there are some good threads on here for installing aftermarket elements and controllers that could get it running again for less than a new one. Sucks to have to throw away food because of a malfunction.
