Yay!  I got the Maverick ET-732 that so many have raved about and wouldn't you know it, there is a weekend coming up?

I will definitely be putting this to the test.  Thinking of smoking a butt and spare ribs this weekend.  I have the sibling rib challenge coming up in July, so my question to you guru's is this.  I am using a Weber Kettle Gold.  I have only used Kingsford Hickory Charcoal so far, but want to try different fuels.  What do is the longest burning fuel that will help me maintain a slow smoke?

Thanks for all that respond.  I'm off to search the forum boards further.  Look for some Q-view this weekend.

I have begun taking pictures, but will have to do some editing before posting the Q-view tomorrow.  I've got to be a little secretive on the ribs though as my brother will learn my latest rub recipe and our challenge in July will be compromised.

I will surely post the butt pictures though.  Look for them tomorrow.

Wow maybe I need to go all covert and quit giving you rub recipes and tips.

I'm still tweaking my own rub receipes, so yeah, you can stop giving me rub recipes.  I've even gotten down the spare ribs method of choice, so no more tips needed there it either. Not saying that I'm not appreciative for your past assistance but when you fall

in the July challenge, it will be due to my new found skillz bro.
