Inspired by JIRodriguez's use of his leftover Chuckie meat (as seen here)

Here's the chuckie from Sunday's smoke

We had about a pound of leftovers that we didn't foodsave, so I threw it in the skillet with some chopped garlic cloves, onion flakes, olive oil, and a little Famous Daves steak & burger rub.

Rolled out 2 pastry rolls (these aren't half as uniform as his?) First timer though

Laid out some provolone, and scooped the meat on. Then added more provolone on top.

Rolled up w/ my Fatty skillz

Egg wash brushed on the top

300 for 30 mins. Had a blow-out on the left side.

Cut Up

Macro'd

Plated w/ a little leftover Mac & Cheese

Thanks again for the idea JIRodriguez

Nice job on the fattie. I usually use a fork to poke a few holes in the puff pastry to allow the steam to escape and that has helped eliminate blowouts. Give it a try - you only need 2 -3 for something that size

Nice! learn something everyday

Prior to this, I didnt even know what a pastry roll was

Definately going to make one again though.

I think pulled pork w. sauce would be great in one

Great job -- man does that look good!! I have plans to do some chuckies soon...I think I know what I'll be doing with some of the leftovers!

Great Qview!!
