Ok guys, first off I am a machinist and my carpentry skills are very limited. That being said, I love smoking things, but have limited space in my bge so I built me a little smokehouse. I have a propane burner in it to get my fire started and I fill a pot half way with lump oak coals and put my smoking wood on top. Not sure what things I have done right or wrong, but I think it came out pretty good and wanted to share a few pics. Well, i have another 80 pound batch of deer/pork sausage that I will do in the next week or so when my new son is born and I have a few days off, so I'm pretty excited to fire it up again

Thanks T,
I still have some things to figure out, but I feel like I'm off to a good start. Now that I have found this site and discovered what u guys call the mini wsm I think I will try to get one built as a Christmas gift for my dad real quick

Great job! I am jealous. what type of wood did you use in your smokehouse build? Is that a cement pad? What was used on the roof? Looks like it(the smoke) seeps out from the whole roof system? I am anxious to build my own smokehouse.

Sam,
I basicly built this thing as cheap as possible incase it didn't work. I started with a 4" thick slab made with the sacks of concrete from lowes. The walls are just sheet siding from lowes $17 a sheet. The smoke does exit through the roof corrugation, and so does air. I am still able to easily maintain 150-170 degrees inside and get a very good smoke on my meats. If my wet logs dry up and start to flame ( bout every 90 minutes) that building will hit 220 pretty quick, so it's not a set and forget deal, but it is working much better than I suspected. I watch from inside the house and when it stops smoking I know to go add more wet wood to avoid an open fire. If I have to leave for a while, I put this lid on the pot so it can't blaze up
