My first Q View!

    Not my first time smoking, just my first time sharing the Q view :)

    Two chickens, both about 3.5 pounds. The left one was rubbed with my home made BBQ rub, the right one with a lemon pepper rub. Both were injected with creole butter, and smoked for about 4 hours with some mequite chunks in my ECB

    Sorry for the fuzzy pic, my phones camera SUCKS...

    Oh, and that plate behind the baking sheet... I smoked a few pieces of bacon just for fun. They did not turn out to be tasty treats... Could be due to the fact it was just some cheap bacon. I have been reading all day though and want to try making my own bacon now. Gonna shop around and find a place to buy a pork belly.

    I know how you feel...I've been using my Motorola 2.0 MP Razr cam the past several weeks, as our digi-cam charger got lost.

    A few things I learned with mine, because of not having a flash:

    1. Adjust settings for white level and brightness according to lighting conditions.

    2. Take a few pics of your subject, then change the settings and take a few more...sometimes the settings make all the difference in the finished photo.

    3. I don't use the auto setting very often, as brightly colored objects in the background can cause unusually dark's screws up the lighting intensity and type of light sensed by the camera. Alternately, a dark background can cause the auto setting to brighten the pic too much, causing very skewed colors of the subject.

    Try a few test pics, get to know any adjucstment available with ypour model and try different settings so you get to know it well. They work OK, it just takes some trial and error.

    Thanks for those tips, it is an iphone though, and the camera has just always been crappy haha. I am not too concerned about it, if I want a good pic of something my DSLR is just about always with me :) .

    Those are some nice looking yard birds. I think this one into that catagorie with the greens fuzzy meat isn't good for you. Well it's fuzzy. JK

    Just shredded the lemmon pepper one, and it is fantastic! I started to try and cut it, but when I went to move it, the wings and legs literally fell off by themselves hehe. And then when I went to use my knife on the body of the bird, the meat just started falling apart, so I figured screw it, might as well just pull the meat off.

    Was still a little hot though, gonna let the other one rest a bit longer. The creole butter injection is the way to go with smoking birds. It adds so much flavor and basically steams the bird from the inside. NOM NOM NOM!

    When you upload your pics to Photobucket, I would suggest either uploading at 640x480 or 800x600 otherwise anyone with dialup service will be able to watch a movie while they are loading... Just a tip to help you out...

    I love when my beer can chicks do that, I go ahead and make pulled chicken BBQ...
