I finally got to put my new smoker to the test. I started building this cooker in January of this year after going out for ribs with my wife and realizing how much I like smoked meat. Well the smoker did get a little out of hand I sure am having fun. The smoking meat forum has been a great deal of help. Last Sat. I did 370 #s of pulled pork and it turned out great.

Looks like a couple of whole hogs could get lost in that monster smoker.

Awesome looking smoker!

Could you show us some more pictures please??

Started out with a steel drum in January.  It turned in to a 26 foot long, tandem axel, 4-tray rotissary with 80:1 gear box, 2 rpm's, 4 internal trays measuring 20" x 69".  The cooker will hold up to 400 lbs.  Cooker weighs, 3,480 lbs.  Has 1,000 lbs tongue weight.

Enjoy the pictures.  You can also see additional pictures in my profile.

Gawd.. Are they giving away steel in Wisconsin?? That is one heck of a smoker there my friend. Is the lid lifted hydraulically? How does it open? What does the firebox look like?

The lid is counter weighted and has about 40#s of lift and is perfectly balanced once it is over center. The door is only opened for cleaning or for loading when I fill the cooker up. I have what I call a snack door in the ront of the cooker that measures 24x30. As far as the steel I am a union Ironworker and I own my own welding shop so I put it together with stuff I had laying around.I have about $1800.00 worth of steel and mechanicals and #2000.00 in Busch light for engineering. The coal box runs the full length on the back side and will hold all the wood or charcol you would like.

LMFAO!!

That is a BEEEEEEAASTT!!!!!!

The cooker will have a 2 half barrel fridge and a stainless prep table on the back over the axels after I recover from the holidays.

Have a great night!!

I love this unit for  couple of reasons,1 ) Its just so big,its never going to be a deal where you wish you had more room.2)Its clever, well built & you had the can do spirit to just make it on that grand scale. This is particularly impressive because my metal shop teacher said I was "the worst student he'd had since the war" it was the 70s & he meant WW2.Thats a big field
