My first beer can chicken in the smoker.

  1. Thought i'd try a chicken in the smoker. Tried a rub i made myself and smoked the chicken for 3 hours at 300° and it turned out great. Im a newbie but im starting to get the hang of it...

    Suggestion for you (If you haven't done it) - You can work you fingers under the skin and separate it from the meat.

    Then put your rub under the skin too. Gets into the meat a little better that way.

  9. I did rub it under the skin, but I must admit that I didn't do the best job at getting it all over. Will have to do a better job with that next time.

    Beer can chicken is a great way to do chicken and your chicken looks great
