Yesterday I finally decided to pick myself up an el cheapo dehydrator from Walmart since my peppers are beginning to ripen like crazy.

This picture is from something a few days ago but forgot to snap a pic of the cayennes I was getting ready to dry and I figured I should have a pic of them fresh.

Placed in the dehydrator for 16 hours, vacuum sealed half and crushed up the other half.

I have to give a special thanks to Alex for all the help, hints and tips he has given me on dehydrating and the many different times I had a question about peppers he was always my go to guy.
So thank you Alex, I appreciate all the help

Hey fire I have one of those dehydrator. The only thing is I cann't grow anything to save life. We have bought tomatoe plants with tomatoes on them and we still kill them. Those look really good I guess I will just have to try again next year and see what I can kill then.

This year mny brother-in-law was supposed to take care of getting the jalapenos (which he didn't) so the only jalapeno plant I have growing was one I planted for my sister and that is a no-heat jalapeno plant so no chipotles

I've only used it the one time but so far I think it actually did a great job.
Peppers were dried perfectly so now I need to try a few more things on it like onions and garlic.
Really the only bad review I had heard of it was that the trays will eventually become brittle after lots of use so we'll see how long they last.

I'm so glad I did get a dehydrator though, now I can make and use lots of different garden grown things in the middle of the winter.
Cab't wait until the habaneros and scotch bonnets are ready, I think I'll put it outside when I dry those though.

Awesome JIM.I think the vac-u-seal and use what you need is way to go myself.Powders that are constantly exposed to air lose a little flavor-color from my experience.
I always gently toast(never Burn them) until you get some aroma etc and grind.Much like toasting allspice, juniper berries etc.

Looks fantastic and thanks for compliment.I am sure as your dehydrating and growing continues I will be learning a thing or too...

Great job Jim,

I was going to dry a bunch of Jalapeno & Hot Banana Peppers, we was letting them get red but it seems my illegal Mexican Neighbors thought they should have them and when we went out last week to get them they were gone along with almost all of our ripe tomatoes.

Wife says that I can't use my 357 mag for garden security... I say it would be no great loss...
