I'm slowly but surely getting everything I need to start my build: Frigde, cold smoke genenartor parts, 1500 watt element, PID ....(I will post some pics once i get off this god forbidden road trip) What I was wondering is what to use to get rid of the musty smell inside my fridge. It's a GE deluxe i would guess its 60 to 70 years old and has a smell to it. Not real bad but "musty". Would baken soda work?

Diluted bleach will kill most mold and disinfect the surfaces

Bleach kills everything even me sometimes.

Once you clean it out with the bleach, let it dry out and then wipe it down with a damp rag with some vannilla extract on it and it will get rid of the bleach smell.  That's what I use on my coolers and it is a great odor eliminator.

Never thought about the vanilla!  I have used lemon juice before or a box of baking soda.  Thanks for the good idea

Cool idea. I usually just use a strong baking soda wash, and re-rince
