Got so spoiled with what I had done to my other Big Chief smoker, I finally got off my backside and did the same with this one by replacing the original 450 watt heating element, with an adjustable 750 watt unit. Going to test it tomorrow afternoon on an Indian Candy recipe.

That's the best thing you can do! I did that with mine after the original burner burnt out. Still kicking myself for selling my Big Chief!!!
 
Yesterday I added a stop tab so when you slide the chip tray in, it butts up against the tab, centering it on the element. Much easier!
