I'm Mike and my wife's name is Theresa. She will probably post under my name if she has questions.

We live in East Central Illinois, USA. We decided to buy ourselves a Masterbuilt 20070910 30" electric smoker for Christmas. We cooked short ribs which turned out ok, but a little dry.  We're looking forward to learning more about smoking and we're anxious to get started.

Our neighbor, Phil, who is also a member of this forum brought us a book, John McLemore's "Dadgum That's Good, Too" to peek at for a few days. Theresa and I are both surprised at all the things that can be smoked. Phil told us about a smoked meatloaf that we're going to try today provided we can find the mesh bag.

We look forward to meeting you all on line.

Smokin' in the New Year!
