Hello everyone so glad to find this site. I'm fairly new to smoking as I just started last spring and looking to learn as much as I can. I really enjoy eating smoked meats and enjoy cooking for family and friends just as much. So far I have found this site to be very informative and very enjoyable to read. I got my start last year after my wife's uncle smoked a pork butt for everyone and I enjoyed it so much I decided it was time to learn my self. I talked with her uncle and he gave me a family rub recipe and some pointers and off I went. Just two weeks ago I purchased an vertical offset charcoal smoker and I love it. Before I was just using my charcoal gill which worked but not nearly as well. Last weekend I smoked some pork chops with some applewood and had my mother try them (not a big fan of pork) and she loved them so much she asked me to smoke more.
