Hello from Michigan.

I'm new to smoking.  I love to cook and perfect certain types of food.  I decided to take up smoking because in Michigan we only have a couple of good true BBQ joints.

For smoking, I settled on a propane vertical smoker, a smoke hollow due to a friends recommendation. I am a pretty active guy and didn't want to spend the day tending to the smoker, so a charcoal or wood fired smoker was definitely not in the cards. Reviews on electric smokers all seemed to have the same complaint about the heating coils burning out prematurely. So a propane seemed the way to go.

I have a couple of smokes under my belt, so I'm definitely in the "still figuring everything out" category. I'm hoping by summer that I'm at the point of fine tuning, so that I can amaze dinner guests with some unbelieveably good true BBQ.

Now we like having new folks here to give a new prospective on some of the ways we do things around here. Now the next thing you have to do is run out and get something to smoke. Then just smoke it and if you have any questions just post  them here and we will answer all your questions that you might have. Oh yea there's no stupid questions we were all there in the beginning and we just really like to help others enjoy the fabulous smoked foods that we do. So again
