After the success I had with smoking lasagna, I tired doing this with chili. I have used the same chili recipe for many years with changing only the meat depending on what I'm in the mood for. This time it was turkey. I basically smoked all the veggies and the ground turkey in my Traeger with Mesquite pellets. The peppers were in for only about 45 minutes and the rest 2.5 hours until the Turkey was browned. Then it all went into the Crockpot and slow cooked for 14 hours. The chili really turned out great. It had a nice light smoke flavor to it. I will be doing this again but with steak. My bulldog Gus spent hours walked around the house drooling on the hardwood floors.
