I want to smoke a whole chicken and a brisket at the same time in my MES 40"-any suggestions? My brisket has been trimmed, rubbed and sitting in the fridge for the last 48hrs-I'm getting ready to brine my bird now.I'm really green with the electric smoker-I've done a lot with stick smokers-but the electric smoker makes me a bit nervous!!!

Any pointers would be great:usa:

Smoke n fire, Howdy. Glad to have you here . I am a Stick burner  too and dabbling into the Watt burner world. I see no reason you could not do them together , other than make sure the Beef is on top ... in  fact , Poultry is always on bottom

 .

As for my 2cents worth , IMHO , you can cook them both at 275*F and get by easy . No need to get nervous , this is gonna be easier than you  think , set and drink, check and drink , check and goto the potty . Check and drink... may repeat as necessary.

Have fun and . . .

Depending on the size, brisket is going to take much longer. If you want them done at the same time adjust when you put chicken in acordingly. Be mindful when a chicken is done it's done. Brisket will get better longer it's in but not poultry.

The bird turned out awesome.I think the brisket was overcooked-couldn't slice it-it just fell apart. So I will adjust a few things for my next brisket.
