Hi yalls,I've been reading here until my eyes hurt trying to decide which mes to get.

I know I want a 40 with a glass door. 20070311 looks and sounds good to me.

the 20070315 looks really good too. I like the 6 racks. my question is I'm trying to see if there's a 40 inch mes 2.5  gen with just the four racks. I see one listed at sams club part number 20070215 and am wondering if its a gen 2.5 hoping anyone knows.

Well I went to Sams club and brought home the MES 40 with Bluetooth (20070215) f:yahoo:or $329. Had an added bonus I wasn't expecting: it came with the legs and wheels in the box!! It's all put together and waiting for the rain to go away so it can be seasoned. I'll probably smoke some ribs this weekend. Lordy I feel like I won the lottery lol. :yahoo:

I got the MES 40 BT seasoned and ready to go. I got my AMPS ready to go. Hopefully my first smoke Sat or Sun will go smooth. Looks like its gonna be a pork loin, maybe a brisket. I suppose I'm gonna just set the AMPS on the drip tray under the water pan and see how it goes like that, and try some of the suggestions I've read here about air flow if I have any problems keeping it lit. this place is so very informative. I am happy I stumbled upon it.

You need to elevate the AMPS and pull out your chip loader in the dump position to help with air flow.  Also make sure you have the thing overlit for your virgin run.  I've had a lot of issues lighting mine.
