MES Element Question-can anoyone help her out?

Folks, I received a PM from a new member and she is having issues with the heating element in her MES 30 (0160 model). I told her I would repost her question here in the Electric Smokers forum so you experts could have a chance to help her out: 

I'm trying to find out if anyone actually knows the specific part number and supplier for a new heating coil for my beloved MES 20070106 that has recently demised.

I know MES says this cannot/should not be done but that's their position ...... maybe someone here on this vast forum has found a solution to this problem other than "upgrading to a new MES"!!!!!

Any help you can offer would be appreciated. Someone has discovered a way to pull out the old heating element in one of these 0106 models and found something that will go back in without too much difficulty ..... maybe you could provide me with some direction.
