I have both seen and experienced the issues with creosote building up in the chip tube of the MES cold smoker. It will cause the chips to stick to the wall and not fall down to the screen to burn. My solution is to the the tube and set it on the auxiliary burner of my gas grill for about 5 minutes on high. The creosote build up will quickly catch fire and burn itself completely clean. Issue solved.
