Got an MES 40, Sam's model, for Christmas.  I have already done 3 smokes in it, and overall I am pleased with it's performance.  My only initial concern is the door.  It seals fine everywhere except at the top and bottom corners on the latch side.  I have adjusted the latch as short as I can.  This makes me worry that either the gasket is faulty, or the door may be slightly warped.  Anyone else experience this issue, and if so, what have you done about it?  Thanks ahead of time for any advice.

The MES is so well insulated & tight that if you have a small leak in the door it really doesn't matter too much.

On the frame of the door way where the leak is I have used Rutland's High Heat Sealant on my MES's. Laying a bead of this sealant across the door frame, covering with Saran Wrap and then closing the door over night. Next day just open the door remove the Saran Wrap and your back to smoking with hopefully no leaks!

My concern is its a little more than a small leak.  In the upper corner there is a gap of perhaps an eighth of an inch between the gasket and the body, and almost as much in the lower corner.  Do you think that's enough to worry about?

Thanks, MossyMo.  That sounds like that could work.

It does work; may have to do it twice for a firm seal, but it does work. When ever anything is mass produced like the MES's are in China, quality control before they get shipped to retailers suffers. But as customers we get the products cheaper than if it produced in the USA with better quality control.
