Hello all,

This is my first post to the forum, so please bare with me. I recently acquired an MES 30 from my father in law. He said that all it needed was some new wiring and some connectors.

I went ahead and drilled out all of the rivets holding on the rear cover and replaced some of the wire and the connectors going to the heating element. I put everything back together and fired her up. She came on and started to get warm. I started cleaning up the ridiculous mess that I had made. I turned around to check on it again, and it had shut off. No popped breakers. I pulled the rear cover and double checked everything. I got nothing. I unplugged it and plugged it back in, still nothing. I am by no means a master electrician, but I can usually stumble my way through most projects. Anybody have any helpful advice on the matter?

Thanks,
Brandon

Taylor, morning.....   I take it that was the, "before" I fixed it picture...    If it started and then shut down, and all the other stuff is still OK, here is my guess....   When you start up the MES, set the timer, then set the temp.....   the heat shuts off if the timer is at 00:00......  If that don't fix it, we'll figure out something else.....    If the temp is cold where you are at, MES needs to be preheated with some sort of heater inside so it thinks it's warm out and start up....

When I finished swapping the connections and turned it on, the display lit up. When everything shut off and stopped working, I couldn't get the display or any lights to come on.

If even the display wouldn't come on there is definitely a connection problem. Some how it was getting power for a minute and then the connection failed/disconnected. Recheck your work to make sure everything is wired correctly and safely.
