I had to try Meoweys Meatloaf. Tweaked the recipe a bit bit I sing praises to Meowey. Meatloaf was great. The boss said "your gonna smoke what?" Really it was good and moist. I used pecan and mesquite for smoke This will not be the last one.

But after she ate it.. Wow thats the best meat loaf..

I did one with Buffalo, goose and pork meat. Found the recipe on food network. It smoked up really nice.

Good job on yours.

I guess I need to explain a little. Made meatloaf with 2.1# of ground chuck. Mixed with 1/4 cup milk, one egg and about 1 cup bread crumbs. Also mixed in 1/3 diced bell pepper, 3 diced shallots, couple tbs winchester sauce and McCormick steak seasoning. Smoked 4.5 hours at 225-240*. Pulled when IT was 160*. I will still thank Meowey for this.

Next meatloaf I will try different ingrediants and spices.

I make a lazy man meatloaf that uses 2lbs meat 1 jar salsa 1 cup bread crumbs and 2 eggs that is pretty good. The veggies are already cut up for ya in the salsa and the salsa helps keep it moist.

Again good job and keep it up. Smoked meatloaf is awesome!!!!!!!!!

I did not think of salsa. Well I said I would do the next one different so thanks for the tip.

i have read that it takes 1.5 to 2.5 hours at 275deg or 4 hours at 220deg and both said 160* internal temp.
can someone clear this up or is it 9 of one or 3/4 of a dozen of the other

thanks

Low and slow I think would be better. Its all about the internal temp right? Although, I think 275 deg is a bit high for smoking.

The Salsa idea has to be the ticket...Everything in there for you already...I am going to give it a try on my next one...

Steve

I use Meowey's meat loaf receipe too...It is the greatest...The only change I made was the spritz..I use 3 parts apple juice to 1 part Cap'n Morgans Spiced Rum...Meowey used Jack Daniels...I like the rum better...I feel it gives the meat a better bark...

I got a two pounder in the smoker as I type...Can't hardly wait for it to finish...

Good luck with your smoking ventures..

Steve

I like this idea....I got two lbs ground beef. Added 1 can of Rotel original, a couple eggs and italian bread crumbs. Got it all mixed up now and setting in the fridge for an hour or so and then off to the smoker. I am anxious to see how this turns out. Thanks for giving us this idea... Steve

Smoking a met loaf is like smoking a fattie, the possibilities are endless!
