so, i'm supposed to intro myself?

k, i'm susie from the wastelands of new mexico.

got a traeger in july n been smoking ever since.

i'm not recommending traeger. i had to threaten them by stopping payment on my visa

to get a  working control box.

that said, as long as you don't use traeger pellets you can make yummie smoked meats. i've been smoking every single week because i love smokey meat.

i'm looking forward to meeting you guys n  making  new friends but i have to admit i'm hoping for help along the way too.

pleased to meetcha.

Welcome and I am sorry you've had a bad experience with Traeger.  I own a Rec Tec and have nothing but good things to say about the smoker and the company.  As David said, the search bar can become your best friend.

Welcome! I had a Traeger and had to have the control box replaced 2 times. After that I said no more and gave the damned thing away. Funny you mention the pellets because I was using Traeger and all was fine, but as soon as I switched to a different brand it all went down hill. Oh well, I'll stick with the stick burners. Looking forward to seeing some smokes. I really loved my Traeger for chicken. Man, that thing put out the best chicken breasts.

great to meet you guys.

as to the traeger, on my second smoke the screw thing stopped working. when i called them, they told me i had to fix it myself with tools i  didn't have, then spend hours sandpapering it.

they wouldn't send a new box. so, i stopped payment n sent traeger an email telling them to pick the thing up.

after payment was stopped, it turned out that they could indeed replace the controll box n they did.

i don't repair brand new machines. in law there is a doctrine of     WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY.  even if they deny it they must give you something that works out of the box.

they know this but try to screw customers. i'll never buy anything from them again. i'm not supposed to threaten to get what i paid for.
