I just opened up my second thermometer I was sent from warranty that doesn't work again.I paid $55 for it new 6 months ago and have used it maybe 6 times and sent it back the first time becasue the on/off switch broke. I had to spend another $8.00 to ship it back and when I went to use the new one I was sent to replace the broken one, they do not communicate with each other. I tried everything....resetting it, new batteries, turning it on and off, taking the batteries out. I'm going to call tomorrow and ask for a refund becasue I am sick and tired of not having a thermometer that's NOT reliable. Does anyone make anything reliable?? I do not care about the cost I just want it to work.[IMG]

This was a issue on the Maverick ET-73. They redesigned it with the ET-732 and that one works great. Try upgrading to the ET-732.

yep, many happy customers, me being one of them

  4. I have the Maverick ET-73 and it works fine. I did have a bit of trouble pairing them at the beginning, but i held in the little LX button on the back inside (where batteries go on transmitter) and bom, it all worked. I hope this is all yours needs!

I've had an ET-73 for a year and a half and the only thing I have ever had to replace was the batteries and those only once. I use it almost every weekend if not more. I would love to have a 732 for the extended range but as long as this 73 keeps going like it has I probably won't get the 732 for quite some time!

Tried that and nothing. I see so many people taling about how great their customer service is but I totally disagree. I bought the ET-73 for $50 and sent it back once for warranty at a cost of $8.00 to me. Now they send another faulty unit and I'm supposed pay again to send it back what a joke. They said all they could offer me was an upgraded unit for an additional $26.25 on top of what I spent already and that's great customer service on a 5 month old unit that's barely been used?? I've had issues in the past with my MES and I NEVER had any problems returning or getting replacement parts. So basically with all the return postage and the original unit cost and now the upgrade charge I'm almost to $100 for this thermometer.[IMG]

I dont remember which off hand, but you do know you have to turn one of them on before the other right. I have had mine for about 4 years, the range sucks but I like them

An Ebayer seller who sells all kinds of thermometers and kitchen wares. Yes you turn on the reciever first then the transmitter at least that's what they (Maverick) told me when I called them.... didn't work.

I have recieved alot of PM's from members saying they have had the same issues with this thermometer, so I guess it's not an isolated incident. The other big issue alot of folks are having is the probe/probes going bad.

    I am a fan too!

While I would prefer the Maverick 732 to be made in America, it works well, and Todd has always had EXCELLENT service.  Except for the probes going bad, I haven't had a problem.

    Gppd luck!

I've had a 732 for a year now and no problems, thank goodness. You got to be careful not to get the probes wet where the wire meets the probe. That will short out the probe. Some folks remedy this by sealing the connection with some high temp. RTV silicone (the red permatex brand).

Todd Johnson with A-Maze-N Products, a site sponsor and supplier of Maverick ET-732's to most of us.  Great service and a good guy to do business with.  His banner should be to the right of this page.

  19. He is the guy who owns this place  http://www.amazenproducts.com/SearchResults.asp?Cat=40   He has the best customer service you will ever find   [IMG]   He sells the ET-732 for $59.99 which is a better model than the 73. I use mine almost daily & really like it.
