Hi guys, Im new to the forum and plan on being around here quite a bit! My name is Matt, and I have been a bbq fan for a loooong time. Im 48 years old, married, with 2 great kids.

I have always used the Weber Kettle Grill to smoke meats, using charcoal and wood chips. I love the way that works and the great results I get. However, life is busy, and I cant devote as much time to stoking a fire as I would like to nowadays. So I got a Masterbuilt 30' 4 Rack Electric Smoker. I used it only once so far, and had decent results with a Pork Shoulder, but awful results with a brisket. I think I used the wrong cut of  meat, as it was dry and sand (made great chili the next day, though).

So thats about it. Thanks!

Hello Matt, welcome and all that stuff. You will enjoy this site as it is the best.

Add your location to your profile so we know where you are from. When asking questions sometimes that helps.

Enjoy yourself and post some pics of your smokes (pretty much required) as we like to see what others are doing.
