My heating element went out on my Masterbuilt smoker.  Masterbuilt replaced my old one so I puchased a firebox and mounted it on the side of the old smoker.  Had my first smoke Sunday (ribs) and worked extreamly well.  Never got above 230 degrees.  Used charcoal and apple wood.

Is that galvanized dryer vent ???

Farmer Engineering at it's Finest!

The duct looks like aluminum to me.

Thanks for asking it is alum vent seems to work nice perfect for more smoke than electric

Where can you buy a separate firebox?  I'd love to do that and mod an old fridge or old BBQ.

The smokor side box came from target it is like 12x 12 x13 and screwed to of the side of a electric smoker that went bad so i mounted directly to the box an so has been a good add on for a charcoal an wood easy to control temps fun so far and good amount of smoke fun with new ideas Jim
