Got a masterbuilt single door smoker and I was wondering if any has modified the wood chip pan?
Do you have the XL?
I think most use a cast iron fry pan for a wood pan.
When using the fry pan does it have a lid?
no. not saying u cant use a piece of foil over it..i run mine open.
So, I guess I have been goin about this all wrong, All the aftermarket boxes you run into have lids and I have been chokin the air off mine to keep it from Spiking the temp. I have been reading alot of whats in here, And I have seen one guy that used bricks for a heat sink to even out the spikes but at roughly 13x13, 4x8x2.25 bricks would require alot of cutting to get a uniform pattern. So I have been thinking of aluminum square bars or tubes filled with sand. Then there are the pellet tubes that look like they would be an idea.... Just thinkin.
