So yesterday I picked this baby up at The Home Depot after looking and looking and looking to replace my crappy Brinkmann Smoke n Pit offset smoker I bought last year....I wanted to keep it under 200 although I would've prefered to buy a Kamado style smoker for more the wife is pissy I wanted to buy another smoker after just one year to begin with.....

So I checked this baby out...and so far....loving it...as I type this I have a Boston Butt in there smoking and a couple of baby backs just waiting in the fridge....

The one issue everyone talks about is that it get's too hot because it burns chips up....well getting too hot and working on getting it cooler is much easier for me because the problem I had with the Brinkmann was actually get temp up above 200.....I'm at 300 right now playing with the baffles a bit and the charcoal seems a bit fresh still so I'm sure it'll cool off a bit....but let me tell ya....if you're new to smoking and want something cheap....this is the way to go....

Couple things to point out....I have an oven thermometer and the thermometer that came with it is almost spot on to what the oven one is showing...kind of surprised....

As far as heat escaping....there's just a tad bit...but if you have an El Cheapo offset like I do you'll think this is heaven in comparison!!!!

I'lll be posting pics later in the day for my results....
