My name is Mike and I just bought my 1st smoker and am ready to dive in head first and get good at smoking meats!  I have always wanted to try and do this just never gotten the time to try it.  Now I am making the time and want to learn all that I can as I know this will make me enjoy everything that I try to smoke.

I live in the Florida Panhandle.

Any advice you may give me to point me in the right direction will be most appreciated!  My smoke is a Masterbuilt  and it can smoke with charcoal or gas.

I am a newbie at this and any suggestions as to what is the easiest meat to smoke on my first try?  What kind of wood chips should I use.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Mike
