i'M NEW TO POSTING and smoking. I just ordered a MASTERBUILT 30 in. elect.. Can anyone tell me the power requirements ie. amperage or wattage. thank you

800 watts, no biggie. Just don't use an extention cord unless its is a heavy guage one.

No problem running your MES on normal house current . I would try to use a circut that doesn't have anything else running on it.
If you need an extention cord , Go to lowes ,home depot ,etc and buy
10 guage cord and get heavy duty plugs. You can buy the cord cut to whatever length and buy the ends and assemble it yourself.
I made a 20 foot cord as this was all i need to set up my MES where i want it.

Yes it is 800 watts also.

I use my 30" MES on the front porch. I plug it right into the outlet on the porch.
I had my doubts at first that it would work properly, because that one is a GFI outlet, but it seems to work fine.

The MES is a good choice, any household curcuit will do.

It seems to be suseptible to cold which screws up the digital controller. I solved that by putting a heated towel on top of it during cold weather smokes.

It really is almost set it and forget it. I'm sure you will love it.
