Do you think it would be necessary to pre BBQ some Trip Tip and Briskett if you are going to make a crock pot full of chili or can you just put it in raw. I was thinking of cooking for 8 hours on low in the crock pot.
Yes, we smoke it all the time. The easiest way is to make patties or balls. If you don't have a jerky rack for your smoker it's alright to smoke them in a pan. The ground meat really picks up the smoke. If your putting it in chili, you don't need to cook it all the way, about1 1/2 to 2 hours of smoke at 225 is good then finish cooking in the chili.
