My last tank run I scored a cool 110 gallon bomber tank and I think I'm keeping this one for my self as I tend to sell my personal smokers after a few uses. The down side to pit building, business is business... lol

Sense they don't make these bomber tanks anymore it would be hard for me to sell it. It will go on a trailer for sure, but i believe I'm going to build it to have 50's hot rod look to go with my 54' chevy ratrod truck that's under construction. Any ideas of how you would like to see it built or features? If it's a keeper for me might as well throw it all in. Thoughts??

Greetings Top Shot,

Nice score on the tanks! What is the bomber tank made of? It looks like stainless in the picture. BTW Cool rat rod start! Where did you get your tanks? I'm in Decatur, AL a couple hours south from you.

Thanks

Len

The bomber is 1/4" or 3/8" thick carbon steel have not drilled it yet to check thickness. I have a deal with heritage propane to buy all their tanks that are out of hydro-static date. We only use the best out of the ones we take the rest get scrapped or resold on CL. for a little profit to cover fuel and time on average i  pick up 10 tanks a month or so.

Thanks on the Rat!! It is coming along I built the frame a few months ago and have the engine ready for it to go in. I figured if i built a cool kinda matching themed pull behind smoker it would be a nice little promotional rig. It is slow progress working on my own stuff because I am always working on customer smokers.
