I have been lurking around for about a year now, but the product reviews section got me to go ahead and join over here. I am active over at the GON Forum and Facebook so bear with me if I am not the most active user. I currently own a home made horizontal drum cooker and a red Brinkmann with a Auber controller modification. When I walk out of the house to get setup for cooking, probes are running every which way, so you could say I am pretty serious about it.
I have wet brined and cured Canadian bacon, ham, and buckboard bacon. I make a chorizo sausage that gets good reviews from tasters. I love to cook salmon filets, pork, venison - I like to hunt so a lot of fresh stuff hits the grate as well. I am always playing with rub recipes or marinades.
I'm 42, married, and we have a 3 year old daughter.
I'm looking to add to the arsenal of cookers so I can cook in our local Market Days here in town. Also looking at opening a small restaurant in town, hopefully in the near future.
I just hope to listen, learn, and share.
Thanks!
