Man, I think the people on this forum are some of the nicest, most helpful people that I've ever encountered! I moonlight as a musician playing drums, and have been on all trypes of internet forums related to drumming, and I gotta say, sometimes its unpleasant! But here, everybody is cool and friendly and cares about giving proper advice and tips.

Glad I found you all!

Well-said, Matt!!  Agree 100%...I also belong to several other boards.  None of them are as friendly and helpful as SMF.

I love it here, too.

Funny thing is, the very nastiest boards I've ever been on were BBQ boards in the 1990s. Loads of hatred based on gender, or ethnicity, or religion, even what state a person lived in. "Tell us where you live so me and some buddies can stop by." It kept me away from Q boards for a decade. But there isn't a whiff of that here, just blue smoke.

Might have to do with age (testosterone levels) too. The average drummer is typically younger than the average BBQ jockey.

thats for sure! At 48 years of age, its easier to spend a day sipping beer and watching smoke than bashing away at Led Zeppelin covers...But both keep you young!

Yeah, this board feels like the old BAM board where it was like we were all sitting around the kitchen table and chatting, except here it's more like we're sitting out on the patio and chatting while the smokers run.
