Need help picking out a new smoker.right now I use a Bradley for the past 3yrs.it works, but is very hard to clean.plus had to replace heating element 4times im not Looking for a smoker I have to tend to every ten minutes.been looking at the sausage maker smoker 20lbs one and the smokin' it number 2 and landmanns great outdoor propane model.i use my Bradley about twice a week year round cooking ribs, butt, lamb, beef ribs, brisket, chicken, turkey, rabbit and deer.im not a beginner, but I know there is always something to learn.should I go propane or stay electric? What would be the best that has a easy clean drip area good water pan, tight door burn chunk or dust and keeps a good average temp indoors and out? I'm going nuts looking at so many models and brands they all promise this and that,I know nothing is perfect.and all the forums to many to read and compare. Can anyone help me

I too started off with a Bradley.  There were a couple of quality issues to include an element which Bradley to their credit immediately took care of.  I am now the proud owner of a Rec Tec pellet grill.  I did my research on pellet grills and felt this one is the best one out there.  BTW they are on sale now.  The people at Rec Tec are great and even provide you cell numbers to contact them anytime of the day or night.   I have only 2 cooks on the Rec Tec but I am extremely pleased so far.  I really enjoy the almost set it and forget it aspect to this smoker.

Hope this helps.

Neither, get a WSM or build a UDS.   Unless you're doing jerkey, sausages etc..which you say you're not then go charcoal and get better flavor...In the end flavor isn't flavor what its all about?    I'm sure you got good tasting food out of the electric but that only has to do with rub, brine and a few wood chips...go charcoal and your flavor will go up a couple 3 notches.
