Hi Folks,

I sell beer jerky at a local farmers market and the occasional festival. My current slicer is just about dead and I have my biggest event in 2 weeks. Can everyone recommend a reliable food slicer that isn't too expensive and can handle 50 300 lbs a month.
Please let me know the model of your goto slicer. Suggestions on where to order from is also appreciated.
I have to order this at latest tomorrow so please if you read this. Let me know as soon as you can and ask your friends to send their choice.

Thanks on advance,

Ciao

I have a Chef's Choice model 615. They make dozens of models, and I got one that was fairly low-end. Works absolutely great, but I think you need something with a big motor and probably a 10" blade (this is a 7" unit). There was a post about one such model just a few days ago. Take a look there because the OP provided a link to the place where he bought it.

If your doing that much you need a pro model.    I have a Hobart.   Its great but expensive.

I have a working or a few working Hobart 5Hp slicers that i have been looking to move out of my storage. Shipping is on you beyond my price. They weigh 75 lb. Please pm me as I love for this community to make use of corporate waste. I do guarantee perfect working equipment, but you will need to sharpen the blades which are in excellent condition. You will have to order a sharpening set for the model as I recycle them to my contract customers.

This is a SMF sponsor so I should be ok with the link..

BTW, I found my 10" Globe on Craig's list from a going-out-of-buisness asian restaurant. It's a crap shoot but you may want to check everyday for a deal.
Thanks Pit 4 brains.  I use them all of the time for my bags and vacuum machine.  I forgot they sell slicers.  This is a great idea because Lias is great.  She gives great service as well.  i will contact her today.

Thanks again.

Ciao,

Rob

I have a Hobart as well, It has been cutting meat, cheese etc for many many years. My advice buy more than you need.... you will grow into it and you only have to cry once...the rest of time your grinning from ear to ear....unless you have to move the monster.
